Set up Apollo Group IPTV on Fire TV Stick

Four things to do, and the longest of them is typing a password with a remote. Identical on a Fire TV, a Fire TV 4K and a Fire TV Cube.

The steps

Do these in order. If a screen does not look like the one described, stop and message us rather than guessing — it is quicker.

  1. Allow apps from unknown sources

    From the home screen open Settings → My Fire TV → Developer Options and switch on Apps from Unknown Sources. Amazon does not carry the player in its own store, so this is how it gets on.

  2. Install Downloader

    Search the Fire TV store for Downloader, install it, open it, and allow it access when it asks.

  3. Fetch the player

    Type the address from our message into Downloader's URL box. It downloads the file and offers to install it — choose Install, then Open. You can delete the file afterwards; the app is already on the stick.

  4. Enter your login

    Choose Login with Xtream Codes API and type the three lines we sent you. They are shown below so you know what you are looking at.

One message. None of it is a password to an account on this website — we do not have those, and nobody from us will ever ask you for one.

Copy them exactly — a trailing space is the commonest reason a login is refused.

If it will not play

The three things that actually go wrong on this device. Open the one that sounds like yours.

“Invalid credentials” but you typed it right

The remote's keyboard capitalises the first letter of a field. Check the username has not gained a capital at the front.

The channel list loads but video does not

Almost always the stick's wi-fi. Move it to the 5 GHz network in Settings → Network, or use an ethernet adapter if it sits behind a wall from the router.

It played yesterday and not today

Check the expiry line in our message. If it has not passed, message us — that one is on our side, not yours.
