Set up Apollo Group IPTV on Windows & Mac

The only guide here with nothing to install, because you almost certainly have VLC already — and if you do not, it is free and takes a minute.

The steps

Do these in order. If a screen does not look like the one described, stop and message us rather than guessing — it is quicker.

  1. Open VLC

If you do not have it, get it from videolan.org. It is free, it has no account, and it is the same program on Windows and on a Mac.

  2. Open the playlist link

Media → Open Network Stream on Windows, File → Open Network on a Mac. Paste the playlist link from our message and press play.

  3. Save it so you do not paste it twice

Once the channel list appears, Media → Save Playlist to File. Opening that file goes straight back to the channels.

What we send you, and where it goes

One message. None of it is a password to an account on this website — we do not have those, and nobody from us will ever ask you for one.

These are example values. They show the shape of the message so you know what you are looking at. Use the ones in your own message — this link goes nowhere.

Playlist link
http://line.example-host.tv/get.php?u=…&p=…

Copy the whole link in one piece. If it arrives split across two lines in your messages, join it back up before you paste it.

If it will not play

The three things that actually go wrong on this device. Open the one that sounds like yours.

VLC opens and nothing happens

The link almost certainly picked up a line break from the message. Paste it into a plain text editor first and make sure it is one line.

You would rather have a guide and a search box

VLC only plays a list. IPTV Smarters has a desktop version with the full guide — ask us for the Xtream details rather than the playlist link.
